WABTEC Company  introduced a new type marine medium-speech diesel engine with no-SCR diesel technology that requires no urea-based after-treatment. It is in compliance with EPA Tier 4 and IMO TierⅢ emissions standards. The products include L250, V250, and power rang from 1700KW to 4700KW。

From Jan 2006, IMO enforced Ship without keel laid to get the IMO TierⅢ emission requirement. GE L250 series engines adopt linear streamline design, was custom-made for Maine vessel. Its spare parts are easy to maintain, turbocharger can mount at any end of a diesel engine L250 Marine engine has two types: 6 and 8 cylinders. It adopts line-type design for saving the cabin room. The design of L250 was according to platform of V250, the successful type of GE. Camshaft, fuel system, power assembly, exhaust manifold, bearing, and supercharger are the same as V250.
